The "Burden of Images. Franconia during National Socialism" special exhibition was shown in 2008 in the Large Exhibition Hall of the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds. Like the rest of the Congress Hall, the great hall, measuring some 600 square meters, is unfinished. During the planned Nazi Party Congress, the hall was probably intended to serve as one of the lobbies for party leaders. As it did with the rest of the Congress Hall, after the war ended the City of Nuremberg took a pragmatic approach to this space as well. Until 2004 it was a garage where the Technical Emergency Relief Agency parked its vehicles. Not until 2004, when the Sparkasse savings bank made a donation, was it possible to repair the floor and heat the space. Since then, the hall has been used for special exhibitions by the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds.
