The Cascade between Temple Pool and White Pits Pool at Weston Park

This cascade was incorporated into an early twentieth century rock-garden - the Garden of Memory, in memory of Lady Joan Bridgeman - although it is probably of late eighteenth or early nineteenth century date. Cascades were extremely popular in Capability Brown's pleasure grounds, providing not only visual interest and movement but also the attractive and enticing sound of water moving between levels.
