The gore system that derives from the Cavalciotto, in 1200 fed 48 mills and 20 fulling mills! The Cavalciotto consists of a dam on the course of the Bisenzio river in Frazione Santa Lucia, about 4 km north of the city of Prato. On the right bank of the river at this dam there is a building remained virtually intact since the Middle Ages, called the Casotto dei Calloni, where through 3 ancient hydraulic shutters in oak (the calloni) still perfectly working was adjusted the passage of water derived from the Bisenzio in a canal, the Gorone, which in the vicinity of the historic center of Prato, it branched off into 4 canals giving rise to 50 km of Gore. The recovery of even a small wall of the old mills to a micro-production of electricity, also taking advantage of the important incentives provided for this type of operations, would finally allow the recovery of that wonderful evidence of industrial archeology that consisted of mills and fulling mills
