The descent of Andrzej Kościelecki and Seweryn Bethman to the fire in the Wieliczka

The specialists responsible for mining operations and mine safety were the masters of works. One of them, Seweryn Bethman, as well as the salt mine administrator Andrzej Kościelecki were presented by Jan Matejko. In the picture they are “caught” at the time they descended into the Wieliczka salt mine during a fire in 1510.
