Ever since it opened in 2001, the Documentation Center at the Nazi Party Rally Grounds, in the north wing of the Congress Hall – itself protected as a historic monument – has stood out for its eye-catching architecture by Austrian architect Günther Domenig: an impressive landmark in southwestern Nuremberg. Each year, more than 300,000 visitors from Germany and abroad visit the "Fascination and Terror" permanent exhibition to learn about the Nazi Party Rallies, the function of propaganda, and the causes and consequences of the criminal abuse of power by the National Socialist state. The Study Forum offers space for education in political history for children, teenagers and adults, and has room for an in-depth critical examination of National Socialism and matters relevant to society today.
