Vladimir Bogdanov was born in 1937, in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg today). In 1969, he moved to Moscow. Between 1960 and 1976, he worked for the Komsomolskaya Pravda and Sovetskaya Rossiya newspapers, and from 1976 to 1999, for the Literaturnaya Gazeta newspaper. His favorite genre in photography is social reporting.
