Urine is similar to artificial fertilizers, but it it much more environmentally friendly and much cheaper. Designer Åsa Lövberg from Sundbyberg has invented Towa, a combination of a pot to pee in and a watering can.

It's important to pour the Towa fertilizer on the soil and not on the leaves of the plants, because they may be damaged. Vegetables that are eaten raw should not be fertilized for one month before they are harvested.

By 2009, Towa only exists as a prototype. Åsa did market research to find out if people who are interested in gardening and the environment would want to buy Towa. The Towa can eventually hit the market in 2011 and is sold by stores all over Sweden as well as Åsa's web shop guldkannan.se.

In 2009 the Towa has won an award for best environmental innovation. It is patented and a registered trademark.
