The flesh of passage

Cheongju Craft Biennale

Cheongju Craft Biennale
Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea

The author uses ceramics to reinterpret the materiality of the sword in a historical context. The newly chosen material is salt, which implies symbolism about wealth, power, religion and life. This symbolism lies in parallel lines with the nature of human desire, and the author noted these physical properties. A symbol of male consciousness toward black power in a sharp vertical form, combined with a delicate texture of salt. These salt textures are slipped and scattered by pure white crystals and sensitively catch the eye of the viewer.
