The Grieving

An integral part of the sculptural group of the Crucifixion located in the Basilica of San Leone Magno.The sculpture is conceived according to forms of austere plasticity: the measured drama of the expression of the Virgin is marked by the clean lines generated by the heavy garments that create an alternating rhythm between overhangs and hollows.
