The artwork The permanence of structures connects, through sutures, several references that provoke critical thinking.

This image, appropriated by the artist, is the plan of a slave ship from 1789, created by the Englishman James Philips, used first by slaveholders and, later, by abolitionists, as it expressly demonstrates the process of dehumanization that took place in these ships.
