Chao Jom Tonku Subia of King Rama the IV was the Head of the Sultanate of Riau-Lingga. She was the first and only Muslim who served as an inner-court government official. She maintained the Malay identity through clothing. She wore a sleeved shirt covering her neck with a cloth wrapping around her chest and wore a sarong.
