The "spear" under construction: View looking from the future entrance lobby into the "Flag Court"

The scene at the construction site already clearly showed the radical approach that architect Günther Domenig's new Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds building would take to the monumental old structure. His intentions included creating new visual relationships and axes. The steel framework of the "spear" disappears from the entry lobby into the open "Flag Court" where the flags and banners of the participating local party groups and organizations were supposed to be displayed during the Nuremberg Nazi Party Rallies. The "spear" then cuts through the "Great Pillared Hall."
