History is a true witness of the times, the light of truth, the life of memory, the teacher of life, the messenger of antiquity "(Cicero).
A generation that ignores its origins is similar to a tree with beautiful foliage, unconsciously devoid of roots; therefore, the desire to awaken in young people the deep meaning of their history has animated the patient, long research started a few years ago by a group of scholars and teachers who, in stages and for different occasions, have brought to light documents, photos , artifacts, instruments, testimonies of a forgotten splendor.
"It is a great mistake to think that the story necessarily consists of something written: it can consist very well in something built and churches, houses, bridges, amphitheatres can tell their stories with the clarity of a printed book, if you have eyes for see "writes Eileen Power. In our case, therefore, to tell the young generations about the events of their School, born in the early twentieth, is all that is preserved in the Museum and in the numerous instruments still waiting to be placed.
In order to make the variety and wealth of the instrumental and documentary assets of the Institute available, a museum space was inaugurated on February 13, 2016. This guards three wooden frames of the early twentieth century, in perfect state of conservation and functioning, rare laboratory instruments and objects of the first half of the twentieth century, coming from weaving workshops of the first headquarters of Via Tarsia (1905-1925) and from the definitive one in Via Foggia. In addition, we can admire tissue analysis logs from the first half of the 20th century, three rich yearbooks from 1910, 1920, 1937, weaving manuscript texts with drawings, fabric samples, fabric tracing and analysis, zinc plates on wooden support bearing matrices for the printing of worked fabrics dating from the late nineteenth century to the middle of the twentieth century.
