The Veritable Record of Emperor Gojong

This is a chronological record of 45 years of Gojong’s reign, published at Yi Wangjik annals publishing office in March 1935. The book records from the death of Cheoljong on 8th December 1863 until the crown prince Sunjong’s substitute reign on 19th July 1907 (Gwangmu 58). When Sunjong passed away in 1926, Japanese administration began working on the annals of Gojong and Sunjong with Yi Wangjik from next year April until 1935 when they published it. This record is a valuable historical material in that it contains all the edicts and legislations after Gabo Reform, but needs to be studied carefully because Japanese scholars were actively involved in publishing.
