The Wawel Baletto is a programme of Cracovia Danza Ballet. Both the plot and choreography of the show refer to the influence Bona Sforza had on the life of the royal court in the Wawel Castle. The queen, who was an accomplished dancer herself, brought to Poland esteemed dancing masters from Italy, which contributed to the popularity of the Italian style of dancing at all the courts in Poland. A Wawel Baletto takes us to a lavish ball at the castle courtyard; in the presence of the queen and courtiers, a group of dancers performs a ballet, the theme of which are the fruit and vegetables brought to Poland by her majesty. The courtiers join the dancers and everyone lets themselves be carried away by the rhythm of Italian dances.
