Two years before the final creation, Venanzo Crocetti started to study the composition for the The Young Knight of Peace, monument which has been exposed around the world as a symbol of peace back in 1989 in occasion of the 47th anniversary of the drop of the atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
In this study it has been developed the figure of the horse, portrayed in a moment of calmness while it’s concentrated in nibbling at the grass; since the ancient times this animals’ representation is a symbol of peace and calmness, typical elements of that locus amoenus in which the human being is in perfect harmony with nature.
