The gentleness of the two protagonists is quite clear in the gesture of the horse bending over to nibble at the grass and the one of his owner bowing slightly to look closer at the animal’s movements: this calmness is emblematic because it’s possible to nibble at the grass and rest only if there’s no imminence nor fear of an enemy attack.
