In this 1966 photograph, Thomas is seen with David Driskell and James Herring. In 1943 James Herring and Alonzo Aden opened the Barnett-Aden Gallery. Alma Thomas served as the gallery's Vice President. In a segregated city, Barnett-Aden was the only gallery that exhibited the works of Black artists for an integrated clientele.
