A lithographed, tin locomotive. Reproduction of a six-coupled model steam train—the couples drove the movement of the wheels to make the train move. This is a Toy Town Express 3463 model tin train made by Masudaya Modern Toys, a Japanese toy company, between 1960 and 1969.
Tin plate toys were very popular across the globe throughout the end of the 19th and start of the 20th centuries. The Masudaya toy company was founded in Tokyo in 1923 and became the leading Japanese mechanical toy manufacturer following World War II. Masudaya usually marked its toys using the M-T or Modern Toys logo.
