Independent foot to support the truncated-cone jar, with thick lips on both the base, which is somewhat larger, and the mouth; the centre of the base has two openings on either side in the shape of a half moon which were used as grips. The foot has a stamp of the maker: "J. Delgado (Lucena)".

The jar makers of Lucena produced models of different sizes. Currently they only produce the smallest ones. The smaller sizes had different uses at home: containers for water, conserving dressed olives, cheese in oil, olives, honey, etc. Most were used almost exclusively to hold oil in olive mills.

The province of Córdoba had the largest number of active potteries in the early 1980s, although they were in a marginal situation which is seen in the limited variety of types and the lack of modern technology, apart from La Rambla, one of the most prosperious and industrialised pottery centres in Andalusia. Outside Lucena and La Rambla, where glazed pieces are produced, it is usual to find white production.

The south-west centre (Palma del Río, Lucena, Montilla, Posadas, Puente Genil, La Rambla and Tejar de Benamejí) is the most extensive centre and has major internal differences, but with basic common characteristics. Lucena and La Rambla are the most important workshop and produce glazed pieces. There are three types of workshop: for glazing, for white items (wine jars, pitchers and jugs) and earthenware makers (jars and pots) which have recently become specialised.,
