The pouch is made from mould-pressed leather imitating kinkarakawa, which is also a luxurious imported material. The dial lock plate on the front was also an imported item. Arabesque patterns can be seen on the leather and the frontal metal piece. The jujube-shaped glass bead serves as an accentuation. Glass beads were originally imported to Japan, but production in Nagasaki, Osaka, Kyoto and Edo also began in the Edo period. The string fastener is also likely to have been made in Japan.
