The tomb is made up of a round lid with the elements of the royal coat of arms, a frieze with the prince's motto and the chest whose frontispiece displays the prince's own coat of arms (on the right) and the coat of arms of the Order of Avis of which he was one of the masters (on the left). The frieze and frontispiece were copied in the 19th century.
