Toyokawa was a militarily important district, so up until the Edo Period there was no end to the number battles fought here. The walls being refurbished are those of Yoshida Castle, which served as the Yoshida Clan government offices in the Edo Period. Toyokawa Bridge (Yoshida Bridge) to the left is a 218 meter long bridge built across the river downstream from Yoshida Castle.
