In 1972, Companhia dos Carris de Ferro de Lisboa (CFL) issued transport tickets commemorating the 50th anniversary of the First Crossing of the South Atlantic.
A curious coincidence: in the same year, 1972, this company celebrated its centenary. Companhia Carris de Ferro de Lisboa was founded on September 18, 1872, in Rio de Janeiro, with the purpose of implementing an American-type transport system in the Portuguese capital (carriages powered by animal traction and traveling on rails). It was authorized in Portugal, by Decree of November 14 of the same year.
