In colored gemstones, the presence of inclusions visible to the naked eye affects the degree of purity, but it does not affect all gems in the same way; it will depend on the extent to which it is possible to find them in nature with a greater or lesser degree of inclusions. For example, in tanzanites, this aspect significantly decreases their value, especially in lighter colored stones, where they are more visible. Any inclusion that may pose durability problems (fractures, for example) will also significantly reduce its value. The tanzanite in the photo shows tube-shaped inclusions that do not threaten the integrity of the gem, visible only under a microscope, and which in this case resemble a meteor shower.
