Tulips near the Nash Conservatory

Tulips (Tulipa) are part of the lily family (Liliaceae). Their flowers are shaped like stars, and the leaves are long and tapering. It is easy to think that these flowers are native to the Netherlands, but actually, they originate from further afield in Central Asia.
