The cap displays a construction typical of the region, featuring a geometric motif and abundant padding. A tulle ruffle is placed around the cap, with the bandages tied into a bow. The bands are edged with factory-made lace. The cap was created using the "pulled thread" embroidery technique on tulle, which involves threading the cotton thread through the holes in the tulle fabric.
This cap was a ceremonial and festive headpiece worn by married women. In Greater Poland, this piece of clothing exhibited the greatest variation within folk attire. In the Kalisz region, two types of caps were distinguished: those with ties (called "bands" or "bandages") and those without ties.
