The Kano River, which runs along the highway, branches off as the Kaku River at the entrance to the next station. Crossing the Kano River is the Sanmai Bridge. Walking along the highway under the light of a full moon a father and child carry ladles, and a pilgrim dressed in white—carrying a Tengu mask on his back—is on a pilgrimage to the Konpira Shrine on Shikoku Island.
