Upholstered I

Curitiba, Brazil

The work "Estofado I" was carried out based on the research that the artist performed in upholstered factories and has as a proposal to renew, through touch, the relation with objects already banalized and with which the body has already conditioned, in this case, the sofa. Touch awakens sensory memory. There is, however, the estrangement from the shape of the object that resembles a sofa, and it is not really a sofa. It is this strangeness that brings the renewal of sensation. Bernadette Amorim has been an art teacher for over 20 years and her work revolves around sensations and touch.
