In a loud, cacophonous city, in the midst of the hustle and bustle of people and cars, one often experiences panicked outbursts and anxiety. But turn around, enter the Very Fun Park, and explore an uncharted road. It is a path that gets broader and broader until even your perspective is widened, giving you the chance to see the city in a new way.
This road, created by artist Kuo-Chang Liu, is made with asphalt concrete and extends onto the surrounding fences and walls, allowing it to extend into the sky. Because the work is simultaneously connected to real roads and also goes through walls, it creates a fictional space within a very real context. These blurred boundaries give the heavy asphalt road a sense of lightness as it floats towards the heavens.
