The 5000 zloty banknote from the Great Poles series is one of the retro souvenirs of the communist period. The image of Fryderyk Chopin, based on the portrait of Ary Scheffer, participated in this prosaic way in the lives of millions of Poles - who pay with the popular "Chopin" on a daily basis. On the reverse there is a facsimile of the Polonaise in F minor, Op. 71 No. 3, the autograph of which is kept in the collection of the Chopin Museum. Today it may be somewhat surprising that this less known, posthumously published polonaise was so widespread. After the denomination, famous composers (including Moniuszko and Paderewski) disappeared from the "sphere of money", giving way to Polish kings. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth in 2010, a commemorative banknote with a face value of 20 zlotys was also issued.
