On the steep slope on the right, we can see Buddhist pilgrims—walking along carrying wooden luggage boxes on their backs—as well as a family also on pilgrimage. Ahead of them tea houses line the road, and women touters are beckoning to the travelers. This place is called the Kanagawa Hilltop, a lively place with side-by-side inns and shops.
