The construction of the Church of the Holy Trinity, a large dining room and a fortress lasted from 1406-1418. At the time of its creation, the modern system of defense of the monastery, which consists of mighty ramparts with eleven towers surrounded by a moat and a counter-escarpment - is the most distinctive fortification of a Serbian medieval monastery.
