This is the altarpiece that presides over the “balconcillo del Pópulo”, the exterior chapel of the Collegiate Church of San Antolín, which opens at the Plaza Mayor of Medina del Campo. From there, the Mass was officiated on non-holiday fair days, so that the merchants did not have to be absent from their shops; this work can be considered as the one with the closest connection with the historical fairs of Medina.
