When boatmen and shipping companies went to pray for safe seas at a shrine or temple, they would bring ema votive pictures with their own ships painted on them. This ema was made in 1806 ad was dedicated at the Ise Shrine on the island of Awashima.
Found in Awashima,Mitoyo City,Kagawa Prefecture.
