Under scorching conditions Australia 244 and 5-527 declared and defeated England 215 and 350 by 206 runs. Centuries by Man of the Match Michael Hussey 103, Michael Clarke 135 n.o. and the second fastest Test century by Adam Gilchrist 102 n.o. off 59 balls on Day 3 sealed the victory and the Ashes series.
