Way to the Self-Enlightenment

Wongak scripture published to commemorate the completion of Wongaksa temple in 1465 (Year 11 of Sejo). Based on a Korean translated version of Gangyeongdogam, this one edited only Korean parts of the text and annotation and printed in metal type. It is also called Eulyu type since it was casted in year Eulyu (1565). As this metal type was casted for the purpose of publishing Buddhist scripture only, there was a strong opposition from the Confucian scholars at first, but when casting Gabjin type, it was also melted and used. It is why its copies are rare, and has an important value in the study of Joseon period Korean studies and bibliography.
