Inspired by the overwhelming presence of graffiti in the entire vibrant and, at the same time, precarious city of Athens, Ben Patterson dreamed of a frog's symphony in the form of a "Sonic Graffiti", composed of superimpositions and intermixing of natural frog tones, Hidden political messages and philosophical proverbs should be recited by choirs. Starting from Pond, one of his very early own scores of 1962, the founding year of Fluxus, he refered to two other artistic sources: The Frogking (Brothers Grimm's Fairytales No.1, 1812) and Aristophan's Comedy The Frogs (first on stage 405 BC in the Athenian Dionysian Theater). This implied time travel, Ben Patterson carries his recipients into a timelapse of Western cultural history.
