Tseng Yung-Ning makes use of his own environmental observations and experiences in painting from nature over the years. His condensed and overlapping strokes from different colored ball pens depict mottled and strange looking flora. Whether viewed from up close or at a distance, one always finds a different visual focus . This creates a distinctive spatial sense so that viewers feel as though they have walked into a surreal flower garden. It transforms a two dimensional graphic canvas into a multi-layered world of wonder.
