The artist seems to use the metaphor of the winged horse or al- Burāq to discuss the plight of man’s existence in this turbulent time of wars and tragedy. A state of isolation imposed on man struggling to escape from his ordeal. Yet there is a space of hope expressed in the vibrant ground colour, providing an alternative realm (paradise) to which the soul aspires to reach.
