Ivan Lackovic Croata was born January 1, 1932 in the village of Batinska in Podravina. He finished elementary school, was a farmer, and then moved to Zagreb to work as a postman. His first solo exhibition was in Zagreb in 1964. He has been a pupil of the great master Krsto Hegedusic. From 1968 he devoted himself to painting professionally. The poetic vision of the world and line painting light, relaxed and melodious, are the core values which raise Lackovic in naive painting world. He died in Zagreb on August 29 2004.
