These wooden tags are used to encourage tai sea bream to gather in one place. By dredging the sea bottom with the tags to force up sediment, the sound of the tags clacking together and swaying light confuses the fish and makes them come together, making them easier to catch.
Selected as a National Significant Tangible Folk Culture Asset.
Found in Mitoyo City,Kagawa Prefecture.
