With this eco-sustainable work, I intend to optimize the use of natural resources to reduce the environmental footprint of my work as an artist. During my years as a sculptor, I have explored the possibilities of organic shapes and volumes in different materials and formats. Nowadays, I feel attracted, like many other, by the Anthropocene, the belonging to a new geological era generated by the action of man. The footprint is in our planet. This led me to reconsider the use of the materials and investigate biomaterials: mainly bioceramics and bioplastics. Which are the limits? How did the artists work centuries ago in America and the rest of the world? Why do we doubt about their durability when there are materials and techniques that date back to thousands of years ago? EGGSHELL is a biomaterial based on eggshell and starch which attempts to show another way of producing.
