As a digital native, virtuality has been a constant, and quickly went from a hobby to a job during my adolescence. My paintings, unlike my digital production, are related to the appreciation of daily life, where I recognize the femininities that surround me and break the stereotypes imposed on the feminine and racial. Now that I make my living almost exclusively as a digital content producer on my personal social media and the Identidad Marrón collective, in the series “Working” I want to show the contrast of using internet and art as spaces for self-invention of one’s own image, where digitality and networks work both as a self-expression and as an origin of bad habits and self-absorption. Painting in a more intuitive way, I recognize myself in the aesthetics that influence me (memes on depression, anime girls), but I allow myself to choose that the reality in a room lit only by the screen light of a user that is permanently online can also be the protagonist.
