This version of the map shows the political divide between countries as well as the lines of longitude and latitude, and the Greenwich meridian line and the Ecuador equator are embossed. The ocean currents have also been drawn. Printed globes and maps were the main resource used to teach geography in schools in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
