Okazaki Castle, the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu, can be seen on the opposite shore. Being the sacred birthplace of a near-God, from generation to generation the lord of Okazaki Castle has served as a hereditary daimyo. When feudal processions pass through, they are careful to be in top form. This pictures the Yahagi Bridge over the Yahagi River. At 374 meters long, it is the longest bridge on the Tokaido Highway.
