Epidiascope, or an opaque slide projector The Zeiss Ikon AG company was founded in 1926 in Dresden (Germany) following the merger of four large camera maker companies. Zeiss Ikon became the largest producer of photographic cameras, cinema cameras, and movie formats in Europe and one of the biggest producers of optical lenses for cinematography in the world. The brand ceased production in 1972. Carlos Ziesler was the spokesperson for Zeiss Ikon in Spain in the 1930s.

The epidiascope was a teaching resource used in institutes, public schools, and educational centers. This piece is from a teacher training college in Huesca (Escuela Normal de Maestros de Huesca).
