Wu brocade jacquard loom is the representation of ancient wooden looms which is made of 1974 wooden parts. The machine is 5.6 meters long, 1.4 meters wide and 4 meters high with two floors. The master who controls warp thread sit upstairs, while the other master who controls weft thread sits downstairs (vertical line in loom called warp thread, and horizontal line called weft thread). They cooperate to weave elegant Wu brocade. Wu brocade is weaved by golden thread, silver thread, peacock feather and natural silk. Only 5 to 6 centimeters of brocade can be made one day, hence the saying “an inch of brocade equals the same amount of gold”.
