If you pass by the window of Vis@Vis, a fashion salon favored by young crowds, you will see objects that look like hats or some kind of individual nests standing in the waiting zone window. With bright vivid colors or sedate mythical tints, they are Seashells- artworks of Pan Ping-Yu. Pan Ping-Yu turns her sensitivity into artworks through needle and thread. Strips of fabrics are patched into forms and decorated with sequins and laces. Through warm-feel textiles, Pan Ping-Yu created a mythical world of the ocean- curling waves and fantasies reflected by the lights are like spotlights beaming on the seashells. The life forms have long left the seashells, leaving vacant spaces to the stories of the sea and the smells of the sea. The half-close/half-open form hides yet reveals infinite imagination. It is like a place vacant for long time, yet it is a place to go home to.
