Made of recycled steel, Organic Spirit is the result of a careful process of material selection and assembly. The work is the product of bodily movement and also represents a rebirth for old materials whose life may be extended indefinitely.
Steel sculptor Chang Tzu-Long believes that art in the 21st century should let the viewers enjoy heart-warming works at close range, and even feel them with their own hands. Viewers are invited to go inside the installation and experience the wonders of negative space. With that in mind, Chang builds a huge organic installment with long rods and lets it sit in open space against the backdrop of the sky to blend with its surroundings. An object in random abstract form sparks different interpretations and imagination in viewers’ eyes, and a new world where creative fantasies wait to take flight.
